Subject: Negotiation Concerns Regarding Bronte SLSC Building
Hi James,
The Heads of Agreement negotiated between Bronte SLSC and Council officers contains a baffling outcome. Not only is over $7M of ratepayer money allocated to the project, but a clause also gifts the private club a licence for nine parking spaces in Bronte Cutting for 20 years.
Can someone explain how this benefits ratepayers, who struggle to find parking near the beach?
Additionally, whispers suggest that lifeguards are being allocated suboptimal space, while the club aims to expand its function center at the expense of the lifesaving gym. Is beach safety the real priority, or are we subsidizing a private enterprise?
Best,
Mike Danzey
